Hi Friends, it is finally Friday and I am so excited. I am about to head off to the Balenciaga & Spain Exhibit at the de Young Museum! I have been looking forward to it all week!

Will you check it out this weekend? Tomorrow is opening day!! I am sure I will have some photos and stories to share with you next week.

XOXO!

Woo hoo it is Thursday which means Little Luxuries is back and one of my daily reads is up today to share her finds with us. Not Your Average Ordinary is written by Brandi who I would categorize as a Renaissance woman! She can blog about anything (fashion, love, life, design, etc) and she is currently studying philosophy of science and science studies. Brandi’s blog has this unique ability to always makes me smile.

As a graduate student, I have to be very careful about my money. Or so I tell myself. But in reality, when it comes to weekends at the farmer’s market, I splurge. I can’t help myself. Somehow eating delicious food keeps me happy and sane when the schoolwork piles up. My favorite splurges at the market? Pastured eggs and flowers.

Of course, I had to also buy the farmer’s egg crate from Anthropologie to go with my farm fresh eggs. And the difficulty with Anthropologie is that one little splurge leads to another for the kitchen (like a butter dish) which leads to an apron which leads to a dress (because the dress looks darling with the apron). It’s strange but sometimes it’s these splurges that help us to lead the life we want to. You have to start sometime, I think, and now is always the perfect time.

Did you get a chance to watch the Oscars on Sunday? I love Mila Kunis’ dress – it is a.ma.zing – the color and it has the best of a sweet silhouette and sexy silhouette.  Her hair and make up compliment the dress perfectly! Mila may have been my favorite but there were too many beautiful dresses to pick just one.

A close second favorite – Camila Alves

Michelle Williams

Sandra Bullock {she always looks stunning}

Mandy Moore

Who was your fave this year?

I think its very important to personalize your own pace and Jonathan Adler allows his devoted customers to customize their own
pillows and rugs of course with a little help. Choose your colors, borders, fabrics and patterns and have your very own Adler-esque design hand loomed by Peruvian Artists. This will only set
you back $98!

Pinterest has become my latest obsession! It is the perfect way to catalog all that find inspiring. Currently I am lusting after wedding inspiration boards! It is a mix of everything from glamourous dresses to simple backyard weddings. Check out my pinterest board for sources!

My love for over the knee socks has grown since my last post about them! I have now purchased several new pairs and find myself wearing them over skinny jeans, tights or bare-legged. You can wear them to about anywhere and anytime.

I love all the bright colors available and various patterns. Over the knee socks allow me to stick to my black uniform while maintaining a modern look. The look I am currently trying to create is below!

What do you think of this bit of inspiration?

I somehow stumbled across UK Wedding Photographer, Gill Taylor, and loved his style.  His style is classic and elegant. This shoot is of Claudia and Jonathan at Castor Hall, Norwich.
