Ever seen the Highline in NYC…. it is a beautiful site. An old decaying structure turned into a park in the sky complete with plants, benches and a view of the Hudson. Imagine if the aging structure we know as the Bay Bridge could morph into a park in the sky with views of the Bay. Well UC Berkeley Graduate Students are trying to do just that. Well in theory…. but wouldn’t it be a nice reality.

{ Lan Hu’s design, from a fall-semester graduate studio at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, puts a futuristic hotel reached by ferry at the end of the defunct span}
{ Graduate student Nicole Lew imagines the outdated east span as a park with landscaped paths on the upper deck and housing and shops on the lower deck}
